2008 Fall Conference Supplementary Materials

The theme of our 2008 Fall conference, “Realizing the Promise of Healthcare IT”, is centered on these characteristics:

SAFE The expectation is that care will be as safe as technically possible.
EFFICIENT More patients and fewer providers plus continued cost pressures will force healthcare organizations to become much more efficient.
PATIENT-CENTERED Care and the care experience must be patient-centered to meet the needs and preferences of customers.
ACCOUNTABLE/TRANSPARENT   Cost and quality transparency will be demanded by payers and consumers alike.

The CSC research paper, Patient-Centeredness - Using IT to Support the Shift to Patient-Centered Care, focuses on these same characteristics.  The report provides an excellent underpinning to our discussions at the conference; we hope you benefit from reviewing it.

You may also assess your own organization along these four characteristics.  Take the Evolution Framework Survey.  The survey can be answered in 30-40 minutes, and there is no charge.  When you are finished, you’ll receive a report comparing your organization with all other organizations that completed the survey.  For anonymous participation, please email Ricki Levitan, rlevitan@scottsdaleinstitute.org, to receive an ID number, instructions, and your comparison report. Any questions about the survey should be directed to Jason Fortin, jfortin2@csc.com

Below, find additional reports that further examine the themes of our 2008 Fall Conference, “Realizing the Promise of Healthcare IT".
